
Lead Teacher at StemArt Montesori
All our programs at StemArt Montessori are currently offered on Saturdays. If you want to make some additional income on the weekends, this is the place!
$240 per contract
$40.00/hour*
*Estimated hourly rate according to contract of 6 hours; 1 hour per Saturday for 6 weeks.
About the position of lead teacher
-
Must provide a VSR (police check that is current, less than 6 months old if not currently employed in a child care center)
-
Must be over 18 years old
-
Must have some experience working with children, preferably under the age of 6 years old
-
Must be able to teach a small group of children (sometimes accompanied by an adult)
-
Must be available to work on Saturdays

Must be able to work without supervision
-
Must be able to understand and teach an “expertise”
-
Available to answer parent questions as needed
-
Must be prepared and ready to teach before the start of every class

Preferably have a diploma in:
-
ECE
-
Montessori
-
Teacher
-
Any other child-related field
General Information
-
-6 week contracts, renewable every 6 weeks
-
-each contract is for 1 hour on Saturday
-
-teachers may work more than one contract at a time (2 or 3 hours per Saturday)
-
-commit to 6 weeks of classes
-
-manage supply budget (paid for each contract)
-
-purchase supplies and provide receipts to supervisor
-
-If you must cancel a class, you must reschedule it at the end of the 6 weeks
-
-teach a 1 hour class on a specific topic
-
-starting in January 2023
-
-Hours will be between 8:30-12:00
-
-follow a general course outline
-
-write detailed lesson plan
-
-work with an assistant teacher, depending on the size of the group
-
-must be personable and engaging
-
-groups of children 2 years, 3 years will be accompanied by an adult
-
-groups of children 4 years and 5 years will not be accompanied by an adult -ratio 1:6
-
-StemArt is not a licensed childcare program (even if the classes are held in a licensed daycare site), therefore does not have to follow CCEYA (ChildCare Early Years Act)
-
- no diapering done by staff
-
- no water bottles or snacks during classes (for children)
-
-contracts are depending on registration numbers, a minimum of 5 children must be registered to offer a class and a minimum of 7 children to have an assistant teacher in a class
-
-if under 5 children are registered for a class, the contract will be null and void
